Day in the Life of a Home-based Business Passionpreneur
Thought I'd share a little of my daily routine as a home-based business Passionpreneur
5:00am
I rise at 5:00am these days (sometimes 4). I find that the morning hours are my most productive and inspiring. I'll go straight to the computer, log on to the Internet and check a few stats from the day before. Specifically, I check
- account balances to see what credit card orders have been deposited overnight
-unique visitors to my sites
-most popular pages viewed
-total page views
-income from my Google Adsense Ads
(I've set some goals for all these stats, so I track them in an Excel spreadsheet so I can create graphs of the progress.)
Right now, I'm working on compiling the Life Rhymes book, and working under
Kamau Austin's tutelage to raise the ranking of my websites, so I
-format 20 Life Rhymes for the book
-categorize another 20 for the www.liferhymes.com/search.html search page on the site.
(visits to that page are increasing every day!)
-add AdSense code to 20 Life Rhymes in the archives
I also have a note on my computer screen to make a blog entry each day. (I don't always)
While I'm doing all this, I usually have some music playing in the background.
This week's musical addiction is Madeline Peyroux's "You're Gonna Make Me
Lonesome When You're Gone." I heard it early one morning on WFUV-FM, Fordham University's radio station here in NY, and went out and purchased it the next day!
I listen to it continuously. I mean continuously, over and over. (My neighbors, I'm sure,
must think the CD is scratched and no one's home to stop the madness!!)
7:00am
Usually, by about 7am, I can move to other tasks, like faxing Invoices
to Barnes & Noble, Baker & Taylor, composing and sending email
responses to clients, customers, etc.
I usually make my task list from the evening before, so I've already checked
off about 4 or 5 items of perhaps 10-20 for the day. Other items
might be phone calls I need to make during business hours.
7:30-8:00am
If it's a day I've scheduled to do my exercises, I may now head out to the park
to do chinups, dips, situps and climbing.
Wednesday is order fulfillment day, so I'll prepare some
of the orders not handled by my printing company.
Today also, I have an appointment downtown to
complete and perhaps register for another Scientology Course.
That's it for now!
